BRA MECHANICS

STRAPS - Your main element of support. A straps RIGIDITY is what keeps it stable and its STRETCH is what allows it to move with your body and arms. The WIDTH & PLACEMENT of each strap effects the amount of the bras support, control and lift.

APEX MEASUREMENT - Industry euphemism for NIPPLES and the DISTANCCE BETWEEN THEM, which varies depending on your size.

WIRE - This is what holds your bra up. Usually known as an underwire, it can either give you LIFT or it can MINIMIZE the breast depending on the shape and size of the wire.

CENTER GORE - A supportive panel between the cups. This is an important element and it's what PULLS YOUR BREASTS TOGETHER to create cleavage.

WING - The band that wraps around your body from the cups and CONNECTS IN THE BACK to aid in support.

CUP - The part of the bra that gives your breast support and shape. Fabric RIGIDITY and STRETCH make for a comfortable cup.

HOOK UP - Where the wing and cup meet.
